QDF Quick-Jack connector instructions for low-voltage mini-pendants

1. Locate the QDF connector at the top of the coaxial cord. With the provided metric allen wrench, completely remove the set screw from the tip and the base of the QDF connector.

2. Grab the retainer base of the QDF connector and remove it by turning it away from you. Hold the plug of the connector as you do this.

3. You can now identify all three components that make up the QDF connector.

4. Proceed to pull the coaxial cord out and away of all three components.

5. This step requires you to measure the length of the suspension desired and clip the coaxial cord.

6. Once you've clipped the cord, proceed to peel back the coaxial braided jacket about 3/4" from the tip of the insulated center wire and leave as a bundle.

7. Clip off the excess bundle of coaxial braided jacket until you have exposed 3/4" of the insulated center wire. Then, using a pair of wire strippers, remove 1/8" of center Insulated plastic jacket and no more.

8. Twist remaining coaxial braided jacket snugly over center insulated wire; this will allow for a clean insertion into the QDF connector.

9. Insert the cord back into the QDF connector by passing through the retainer and sleeve first. Now hold the tip of the braided outer jack tightly as you turn the plug at the same time. This will allow for better penetration of the cord into the plug. Then, make certain you can see the tip of the center wire at the top orifice of the plug to insure a good connection.

10. This finial step requires you tighten the set screw at the tip of the plug first, re-attach the sleeve and retainer onto the plug second, then tighten the set screw at the base of the retainer.
